For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a call to action campaign on getting vaccinated against COVID-19. As you may know, many people are hesitant to get vaccinated for a multitude of reasons. So, I wanted my campaign to focus on a central theme; defeating COVID. This is where I came up with the comic book idea. Our own white blood cells are the heroes, the vaccine which helps our bodies is the sidekick, and COVID is the villain. I mainly wanted to show people that we have a common enemy, and that all we want to do is defeat this pandemic. The vaccine simply helps us do so.
I designed a website, newsletter, band-aid, and three posters for this campaign. The comic book action and clean colors are meant to draw people in and introduce them to the message. Overall, I ended up with a cohesive design that could be translated into many different deliverables, including a band-aid.
